What is Orderseam?
Orderseam is a service for brands that sell wholesale on Shopify. It reads the purchase orders your buyers send as PDFs, spreadsheets, emails or phone photos and turns them into Shopify draft orders, with every product, option and size matched to your catalog.
Is Orderseam on the Shopify App Store?
Yes. Orderseam is on the Shopify App Store. Install it from there and it opens inside your Shopify admin, with a 30-day free trial, and Shopify bills you for it. Shopify shows you exactly what access it asks for before you approve. Not on Shopify, or rather have our team set it up with you? Start free on our website instead.
Who is it for?
Brands on Shopify that get wholesale orders from boutiques, shops and stores and still retype them by hand: apparel and footwear, accessories and jewelry, beauty and personal care, food and drink, home and candles, pet, gifts, stationery and toys.
Do you only work with apparel brands?
No. Apparel is where we started, so size grids and prepacks get the most testing, but Orderseam reads whatever options your Shopify products use: scent, flavor, shade, metal, weight, volume, pack size or ring size. Case orders such as “2 cases of 12” become the right units or your case-pack variant. Lot numbers and best-by dates written on a PO are carried onto the draft order and invoice. Things it doesn’t do yet, like EDI, price per pound and tracking lots in your stock, are listed under Every category on our home page.
Which order formats can it read?
PDF and Word purchase orders, Excel (new or old) and CSV spreadsheets, order emails, and phone photos or scans of paper and handwritten order forms.
How much does it cost?
Your first 10 POs are free, up to 30 days, with no card and no contract, and setup is free for our first 10 brands (extra automations are quoted). After that, plans are monthly and based on how many POs you process each month. We agree your plan and price in writing before the trial ends, and founding brands keep their price. If you install Orderseam from the Shopify App Store, you get a 30-day free trial and the plans shown on the listing, billed by Shopify.
Does it replace my wholesale app?
No. Orderseam creates standard Shopify draft orders, so it sits alongside whatever B2B or wholesale setup you already use.
How do wholesale prices and price lists work?
Your wholesale prices come from your own Shopify store, read one of three ways when we set you up: a percent of your retail price, a wholesale price saved on each variant, or one Shopify B2B price list. If a PO's price is different, the line is flagged so you choose which price to honor. When the store is a company in Shopify B2B, the draft is made for that company, so its payment terms and addresses apply. Separate price lists for different buyers aren't automatic yet; tell us if you need them.
Can I try it before my account is set up?
Yes. The demo inbox has sample POs from made-up candle, food, beauty, pet and clothing brands. Open one, fix the lines that need you and approve it, with a short guided tour. After you create your free account, you can also send us one of your own POs: our team reads it against your products and emails you the order it makes.
What does it need from my store?
Access to read your products, stock and customers, and to create draft orders. You connect your store yourself when you sign up, or we set it up with you.
What if a line is wrong or unclear?
It's flagged, not guessed. Lines that need a decision are held out of the draft order until you pick an option.
Can I upload a PO myself?
Yes. Log in to your Orderseam inbox and upload a PDF, Excel, Word or CSV file, a scan, or a phone photo of a handwritten PO. You can also forward the buyer’s email to your Orderseam address. Either way, you check it and approve it into a Shopify draft order.
Do I need anyone else to retype or check my POs?
No. You upload or forward the PO, Orderseam reads it and matches every line to your catalog, and you fix any red lines and approve it. There’s no data-entry team or agency in between, and nothing goes to Shopify without your approval, unless you turn on autopilot for buyers you trust.
Can Orderseam make my wholesale invoices?
Yes. Click Make invoice on an approved PO and the lines, sizes, buyer, PO number and payment terms come straight from the Shopify draft order, or start a blank invoice. Add discount, shipping, tax, a ship-to address, your tax ID or VAT number and the store’s resale certificate or VAT number, name the tax (sales tax, VAT, GST or GST/HST), pick from 22 currencies, then download the PDF or email it to the store.
Do you work with brands outside the US?
Yes. Orderseam works with Shopify stores anywhere, including the UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Draft orders use your store’s currency, and so do the confirmations your buyers get. Invoices come in 22 currencies, with VAT, GST or GST/HST on each line and your VAT number, GST number or ABN on the PDF. POs written in English work best. Our team works US hours and answers by email.
Can it chase unpaid invoices for me?
Yes, if you turn reminders on. Use the usual schedule around the due date or pick your own dates, and write the reminder once in your own words. The amount still pending is filled in on the day each one goes. Record payments as they arrive, and when the invoice is paid in full the reminders stop and the store gets a thank-you.
Does Orderseam send invoices or emails to my buyers automatically?
No. Invoices, payment reminders and PO confirmations are optional and go out only when you send them or turn them on. You can use Orderseam just to turn POs into Shopify draft orders and never send a buyer anything from it.
Do you work with WooCommerce, BigCommerce, QuickBooks or Xero?
Yes, through a spreadsheet. Orderseam connects directly to Shopify, where approved POs become draft orders. If your store runs on WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Wix or Squarespace, or you sell without an online store, you upload your product export or a simple spreadsheet when you sign up, or our team loads it for you. Approved POs then become Orderseam orders you download as a spreadsheet (CSV) with the SKU, product, option, size, quantity, price and dates, to bring into your store, QuickBooks or Xero, and the same invoices and payment reminders work. Direct connections to other platforms come in the order brands ask for them.
Will my buyers know I use Orderseam?
Only if you tell them, or if you email a PO confirmation, invoice or reminder from Orderseam. Those come from an Orderseam email address, with your brand’s name in the subject and on the invoice. Otherwise Orderseam works inside your own Shopify admin, and your buyers keep dealing with you as usual.
