Getting started
What to expect in an Orderseam free trial
The Orderseam free trial (people also search for it as the "Order Seam" trial) lets you run real wholesale POs through Orderseam before you pay anything. This page walks through it step by step: how to start, what setup looks like, what to test so the trial tells you something useful, and exactly what happens when it ends.
Key takeaways
- Sign up on orderseam.com and your first 10 POs are free, for up to 30 days, with no card and no contract. Install from the Shopify App Store instead and you get a 30-day free trial, billed by Shopify after that.
- Setup is free for our first 10 brands: our team helps connect your store, map your products and options, and run your first real POs with you.
- When the trial ends, you choose: keep going on a plan you've agreed in writing, or walk away. Your order data is deleted within 30 days after you leave.
Two ways to start the Orderseam free trial
| Sign up on orderseam.com | Install from the Shopify App Store | |
|---|---|---|
| Free trial | First 10 POs, for up to 30 days | 30 days |
| Card needed to start | No | No card with us; Shopify handles billing |
| After the trial | A monthly plan you agree with us in writing before the trial ends | The plan you pick on the listing, billed on your Shopify bill |
| Best for | Brands that want hands-on setup help, or don't sell on Shopify | Brands on Shopify that want to start right away |
Prices for each plan are shown on the Shopify App Store listing.
Step 1: Look before you sign up
You don't need an account to see how it works. The demo inbox has sample POs from made-up candle, food, beauty, pet and clothing brands. Open one, fix the lines that need a decision, and approve it, with a short guided tour.
Step 2: Setup, usually the first few days
Orderseam only works as well as it knows your catalog, so the trial starts with setup. For our first 10 brands it's free. Our team:
- connects your Shopify store (or loads your product spreadsheet if you don't sell on Shopify);
- maps your products and their options: sizes, colors, scents, flavors, weights, case packs and prepacks;
- tests a few of your past POs, in whatever formats your buyers send;
- sets payment terms and reminder timing, if you want to use invoices.

Step 3: Run real POs, and check every line
Forward a buyer's PO to your Orderseam address or upload it. Orderseam reads every line, matches it to your catalog, and flags anything it isn't sure about, such as an unknown item, an unclear quantity or a price that differs from yours. You decide those lines, then click Approve to create the Shopify draft order. Nothing goes to a store unless you send it.
What to test during the trial
Ten POs go quickly, so pick the ones that teach you the most:
- Your messiest PO. A handwritten trade show form, a phone photo, or a buyer's own spreadsheet layout.
- An old PO you've already shipped. Compare Orderseam's draft line by line with what actually went out.
- A PO with your trickiest options: prepacks, case packs, scents, shades or size runs.
- A revised PO. Check that it updates the same draft and shows what changed, instead of creating a duplicate.
- One invoice, if you plan to use them, sent to yourself first.

What happens when the trial ends?
- If you signed up on orderseam.com: before the trial ends, we agree your plan and price with you in writing. Founding brands keep their price. If you don't want to continue, you simply stop: there's no card on file to charge.
- If you installed from the App Store: after 30 days, Shopify bills the plan you picked. Uninstall before then and you aren't charged.
- Either way: draft orders already in your Shopify store stay there. If you leave, your order data is deleted within 30 days (or when Shopify asks us to, 48 hours after you uninstall), and you can ask for it sooner. See how Orderseam handles your data.
