Candle orders by scent and size, typed into Shopify for you

Gift shops and boutiques order candles in emails, PDFs and photos of paper forms, often by scent name alone. Orderseam turns each one into a Shopify draft order, with every scent, size and set matched to your catalog, and flags anything it can’t be sure of.

• Scent names with no style number: “Fig Leaf: 12 of the 8 oz and 6 of the 16 oz”
• Misspelled scents and small differences, like “Lavendar” or “Cedar and Smoke” for Cedar & Smoke
• Sizes in oz, and sets or packs such as “set of 4”

Nothing goes to the buyer until you approve the draft. Flagged lines wait for you, and you can fix any line before you approve.

• Scent options however your store names them, matched even when the buyer misspells them
• Sizes in oz, ml, inches or cm, read as written and never converted to a size you don’t sell
• Sets and packs, such as set of 4 or 6 pack, as their own variant
• Mixed gift sets you set up once, expanded into their parts on the draft
• Stock checks: short items can go on a backorder draft, or the order can wait to ship complete

What your store needs

Products with a Scent option (and Size if you sell more than one), a SKU on each variant and your wholesale prices. Sets work best as their own variant. Our team sets up the matching with you, including the nicknames your buyers use.

Not handled yet

• EDI orders from big-box retailers. POs need to arrive as a file, an email or a photo.
• A scent or size your store doesn’t sell is flagged for you, never swapped for the closest one.

How we test it

Our candle and home test PO is a plain email with no style numbers: 11 order lines, including a misspelled scent, a set of 4 and two items the brand doesn’t make. All 11 match today. It’s our own test set of made-up orders, rerun on every change, not customer results. Read more about how we test.

Common questions

Can Orderseam read a candle order that only lists scents?

Yes. When a buyer writes only a scent and a size, Orderseam looks for the one product in your catalog that comes in that scent and size. If two products could match, or the scent isn’t one you make, the line is flagged for you instead of guessed.

What happens when a buyer misspells a scent name?

Small misspellings and differences such as “Lavendar” or “Cedar and Smoke” for “Cedar & Smoke” are matched to your scent and shown as fixed, so you can see what changed. Anything further off is flagged for you to pick.

Does it work with candle gift sets?

Yes. A set sold as its own Shopify variant, like a set of 4, is matched directly. A mixed set that isn’t a Shopify product can be set up once with our team and is expanded into its parts on the draft order.
