For jewelry and accessories brands
Jewelry orders by metal, ring size and length, typed into Shopify for you
Boutiques order jewelry in Word tables, PDFs and emails, with metal codes, half ring sizes and lengths in inches or centimeters. Orderseam turns each one into a Shopify draft order with every line matched to your variants, and flags anything it can’t be sure of.

What your buyers’ POs look like
- Metal codes from your SKUs: GV for gold vermeil, SS for sterling silver
- Half ring sizes written as 6 1/2 or 6.5
- Chain lengths in inches or centimeters: 18", 16 in, 45 cm
- Initials or letters, two of each
- Custom engraving requests next to stock items
A sample order, line by line
From a made-up Word order from a boutique to a made-up jewelry brand. Each line shows what the buyer wrote, what Orderseam put on the Shopify draft order, and why.
| Buyer wrote | On the draft order | Result |
|---|---|---|
6101 | Stacking ring | GV | 6 1/2 | 2 | Stacking Ring / 14K Gold Vermeil / 6.5 × 2 | Fixed GV is the metal code in your SKU; 6 1/2 is 6.5 |
6102 | Paperclip chain | gold | 18" | 4 | Paperclip Chain / 14K Gold Vermeil / 18" × 4 | Fixed “Gold” is your only gold metal |
6102 | Paperclip chain | silver | 45 cm | 2 | Not added | Flagged for you 45 cm isn’t a length you sell; never converted to inches |
6101 | Stacking ring | SS | 9 | 2 | Not added | Flagged for you No size 9 ring |
Initial pendant, custom engraving “Mia” | 1 | Not added | Flagged for you Custom work goes to a person |
Nothing goes to the buyer until you approve the draft. Flagged lines wait for you, and you can fix any line before you approve.
What Orderseam handles
- Metal, Finish, Ring size, Length and Letter options under whatever names your store uses
- Metal codes and nicknames the buyer copies from your SKUs or line sheet
- Half ring sizes and lengths in inches or cm, matched as written
- One-size pieces like hoops, bags, hats and scarves with no options
- Stock checks: short items can go on a backorder draft
It works with POs as PDFs, Excel, Word or CSV files, email text and phone photos, and alongside the wholesale or B2B app you already use. From an approved order it can also make the Net-terms invoice and send payment reminders. See how it works.
What your store needs
Products with options such as Metal, Ring size or Length, a SKU on each variant and your wholesale prices. One-size pieces need no option. Our team sets up the matching with you, including the nicknames your buyers use.
Not handled yet
- Engraving and other custom text are flagged for you; Orderseam doesn’t set up custom work.
- A length or size you don’t sell, such as 45 cm on a store that sells 16" and 18", is flagged, never converted.
- EDI orders from department stores.
Anything Orderseam can’t read with confidence is flagged for you, never guessed. The full list for every category is on our home page.
How we test it
Our jewelry test PO is a Word table: 12 order lines with metal codes, a half ring size, lengths in inches and centimeters, letters, a size the brand doesn’t make and a custom engraving. All 12 match today. It’s our own test set of made-up orders, rerun on every change, not customer results. Read more about how we test.
Common questions
- Does Orderseam understand metal codes like GV and SS?
- Yes, when the code is part of your SKUs. “GV” is matched to 14K Gold Vermeil and “SS” to Sterling Silver, and the line is shown as fixed so you can see what was read.
- Will it convert 45 cm to 18 inches?
- No. A length you don’t sell is flagged for you to decide, because 45 cm and 18 inches are close but not always the same chain.
- What happens with custom engraving?
- Engraving and other custom text are flagged for a person. The stock items on the same order are still matched.
